Reported By: Rod W. - Houston, Texas - December 22, 2004
Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: Eugene, Oregon - Date: May 4, 1978 - Time: 1:00 AM -County: Lane - Witnesses: 2 - Object's Shape: Cigar - Number of Objects: 1 -
Object hovered - Addition Information: Fern Ridge Reservoir /off Perkins Peninsula
Event Description:
Actual date other then year, I do not remember other then it was warm in 1978 off Perkins Pennensula, Fern Ridge Reservoir, outside Eugene, Oregon

My girlfriend and I decided to go out to the lake around 0:100. We went to the park side of the lake where there is no housing. This lake is pretty good sized as I remember it.

We were sitting along the shore in the grass, talking and admiring the lights across the lake and the very clear nights sky.

All the stars you could possibly see with the naked eye, seem to be out that night, and they all had a far off white twinkle to them. Every star looked about the same except one, which was orange way off like the others. We watched it for a while wondering why it would be orange or even what it was.

I not know how much time had elapsed since first sighting it until it started to move, mostly because we were spellbound I guess on what we were seeing. This object came down towards us and ended up hovering over the lake about a hundred yards out from us. This was unbelievable to us and we really had a hard time registering this in our heads.

Our initial reaction was screaming and yelling about what was in front of us. I guess it stayed in front us long enough for our initial reaction to wear off. Shock and astonishment took its place.

It was over the lake about 15 feet above the surface. It was elongated in shape with no defined edges. The best way to explain what I mean by no defined edges is to remember the computer mock up by NASA of the space shuttle coming back to earth and how the nose of the shuttle was radiating heat so much that you could not see the defined edge but you knew what shape it was.

This object hovered for I do not know how long, for I was not timing it.  I was too busy watching it in disbelief. I did take some mental notes about it as I replayed it time and time again in my mind. It cast a refection over the lake while it hovered, it did not make any noise that I could hear, it did not change the lap against the shore of the lake and it looked very hot although I did not feel any heat generate off of it.

Eventually it rose back to the nights sky approximately where we initially had first seen it, this seems rather rapid almost dream like in its movement. Then once up there it split into two and one object stayed while the other jetted away extremely fast.  When the first object was gone, the other object went just as fast in the opposite direction.

Seeing something like this has a tendency to overcome you and your perceptions of life on this planet. I would not trade this experience for anything and to this day my blood still rushes through me when I relive this in my mind.
Sincerely,
R.W.G

Reported By: Mike W. - Aloha, Oregon - June 15, 2004
Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: Aloha, Oregon - Date: February 18, 2004 - Time: 8:40 PM - County Sighting Took Place: Washington - Zip Code: 97006 - Witnesses: 2 - Object's Shape: Oval - Number of Objects: 2 -  Object had lights - Object emitted other objects - There is a Public Airfield in the area - Additional Information: I reported to the National UFO back in February
Event Description:
On the evening of February 18, 2004, I was outside my home, watching through my binoculars the normal trajectory of a couple of E to W and S to N satellites, as I normally do on clear nights. I tend to time them, and observe how some are faster than others.

I am a volunteer with a local fire department at the time and am pretty level headed. While watching a satellite heading west to east, I caught a very bright light, same sized, but it appeared much further out, and moving at a tremendous speed. So much so that I turned my sights on it.

It suddenly jetted backwards, then forward, then split in to two, and flew in tandem with each other, then jetted backwards and forwards, then reunited and continued off over the mountains to the coastline. This event took place in about 3 minutes.

I have never seen anything like it before, and my room mate also witnessed this.

As stated above, I did report this that night to the National UFO reporting site and can be seen there. Thanks!

Reported By: Holly G. - Beaverton, Oregon. - May 18, 2001 at 00:53:25
Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: Aloha/Beaverton, Oregon - Date: 3/?/01 - Time: 8:45 & 9:25 PM
County sighting took place: Washington - Zip Code: 97007 - Witnesses: 1
Objects Shape: Triangle - Number of objects: 1 - Object had lights - Object hovered
There were aircraft in the area - There is a Public Airfield in the area - Other: See explanation below
Additional Information: Viewed it as driving up and later down Miller Hill Rd.
Event Description:
March 2001, I was driving 5 minutes from my home to check on my horse. It was approx. 8:45 PM, just darkened horizon. As I drove up Miller Hill Rd. A large light caught my vision, on my left. It was about 1000 ft. off the ground and toward the top of the hill (1/4 mile) I at first didn't think it was unusual, because we live only 3 miles from Hillsboro airport, until I looked up and focused on it.

It was triangular shaped, completely black body with 6-8 lights coming out the bottom. The lights were white and that was the first thing that struck me as odd - most helicopters, planes etc., have green and red directional lights also, this did not. It was traveling the opposite direction as my vehicle and it was now over head and to my left. I pulled over and turned off my truck. It made absolutely no sound and creeped-hovered I would say, if it had been on ground it would have been traveling about 7- 10 miles an hour. It was very large, somewhere around 300-500 ft long with the triangle point "tip" to back being slightly longer.

It moved out of my view, so I started up my truck and continued up the hill to turn around and get a better view. I turned and parked on Cooper Mt. This has an expansive view of over 30 miles across valley. I watched the object slowly move across Aloha/ Beaverton area toward Hillsboro Airport. Within one mile of the airport, it all of a sudden banked hard to the East and right around back toward me (the direction it had just been.) I decided I didn't want to hang around to see if it was coming back for me, so I left as fast as I could to the barn to check on my horse.

As I drove another 2 miles along Cooper Mt. I watched as the object continued flying fast and slow across the Beaverton area. After I was finished at the barn approx. 9:15 PM I headed back home the way I came... Miller Hill Rd. I was searching the sky the whole way and did not see it again, until I was at the top of Miller Hill Rd. again, now turning downhill. I spotted it up to my right over Beaverton city limits and it was now at about 2000 ft and cruising now a bit faster. I watched it fly out of site.

When I got home, I told my husband that I think the military is playing games with their new toys, and told him the rest of the story. 10 mins. later I went onto my back porch to smoke a cigarette and saw a black helicopter (making noise) flying low and searching the area. I do vaguely recall two people walking their dog uphill on the first sighting, but I was too awestruck with what I was seeing to go talk to them or even ask if they could see it too. I was in my own little world at the time. I felt it was a military space craft until I then saw an unmarked black helicopter. If anyone else saw this please contact me.

Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: Portland OR - Date: 02/01/01 - Time: 1:00 AM - Zip Code: 97230
Witnesses: 2 - Objects Shape: Unknown - Number of objects: 1 - Object had lights - Object changed colors
The event took place near A Military Airfield or Base - There is a Public Airfield in the area
Event Description:
My father and I witnessed what at first appeared to be a star in the sky.

Then it took off in a high rate of speed and I thought, a satellite. Then it performed a right angle turn, followed by another turn after 10 seconds. I yelled to my father to come out here, 'What is this???'  He grabbed the binoculars and witnessed it change colors three times, white to red to blueish-green. It then performed more perfect right and left angle turns and went close from (horizon to horizon in seconds).

After 2 minutes and lots of Jet aircraft coming in or flying around, it just kind of "Imploded" or winked out and was gone. And was then the discussion of hours of talk and apprehension....We wanted to see it some more...

Reported By: Kris B. - Klamath Falls, OR - Zip Code: 97527 - September 21, 2000 at 03:53:47
Subject: UFO Sighting/ Abduction By Aliens/ Subject: Paranormal Experience
Location: Grants Pass, OR - County: Josephene - Date: 06/06/98 - Time: Midnight AM
Witnesses: 2 - Objects Shape: Flash - Number of objects: 4 - Object had lights
Object emitted beams of light - Additional Information: Onion Mountain
Event Description:
During the summer of 1998, I took my friend and girlfriend camping in a remote area on Onion Mountain outside of Grants Pass, OR.  We were camped on an old loggers clearing at the summit of the mountain.  It was a round clearing about 200 feet wide, surrounded by trees, except for the logging road exiting on one side.

Towards midnight, we were looking up towards the sky and we saw an object like a satellite moving slowly across the sky in a straight line.  It would get brighter and brighter until it lit up the camp site, then dim down to nothing.  Each cycle took around a second to complete.  It repeated this about 3 or 4 times before it went out of our field of vision.  We thought it was an airplane, but it made no sound whatsoever, as I have heard planes do in the past.  It also looked fairly close to the mountain.

About an hour later, we saw another one come across the sky from an angle of about 75 degrees away from the first one.  Again, it slowly brightened up until it lit up the campground, then dimmed down to nothing.  About an hour after that, we saw a third object come from an angle about in the middle of where the first two originated, doing the same thing.  At this point we were a tad bit freaked out.

Lastly, we saw an object that resembled a satellite or a star, but it didn't change brightness or look out of the ordinary.  What made it extraordinary was the fact that it changed it's direction without stopping or even slowing down.  It came across the sky in an arc, and then after doing a half circle or so, it suddenly changed direction and moved straight out away from the arc.  It didn't slow down or make a sharp turn, it simply changed direction.  I have never in my life seen anything do that.

We talked about whether we should leave or stay at camp, since we were at least 1 1/2 hours away from civilization.  We decided that even if something more happened, we couldn't speed down the mountain because it was a dangerous road.

We all laid down in my tent and I was closest to the entrance.  I laid my  .22 handgun down next to me and told the other two people with me that if they needed to get up out of the tent for any reason, they needed to wake me up and tell me first because I didn't want to freak out and shoot them.

We went to sleep and I had a dream that all around the camp sight was a blue light.  I could see the shadows of things like the cooler and the car from inside the tent, leading me to believe that the light source was at least as big as the campsite.  I looked in the direction of my tent entrance and I saw a figure walk up from the woods.  It was a pretty large man shaped figure and it had one of those forest ranger hats on.  I reached for my gun and it wasn't there.

The next day I woke up and my girlfriend was asleep next to me and my friend was out sitting in front of the fire ring.  My girlfriend woke up and after a few minutes, proceeded to tell me about a dream she had the night before.  It was the same dream I had, only from her perspective.

I went out to tell my friend about the dream we had and as I started to tell him about it, he finished it with the same exact details I saw.  The one difference between his and ours was that he had another dream that he was surrounded by the same blue light and he was being lifted into the sky while he was laying on his back.

We left that day and didn't talk about that night for a long time. I had my gun the next day and I haven't had any other dreams of that sort, but I refuse to go back up to the top of Onion Mountain. Feel free to respond or comment.

Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: Bandon, Oregon - Zip Code: 97411- Date: 9/12/00 - Time: 9:20 PM
Witnesses: 3 - Objects Shape: Teardrop - Number of objects: 1 - Object had an: Aura or Haze around it
Additional Information: The beach at the South Jetty at Bandon Oregon
Event Description:
While walking on the beach I was looking at the North Star telling my friend how the big dipper pointed to it.
We noticed a steady bright white light much brighter then the stars in the dipper, but perfectly steady light moving up and to the right almost parallel to the line formed by the stars on the right side of the dipper. It continued steadily, but slowly moving in that direction. Then instantly started moving directly to the right while keeping the same momentum after being what looked like slightly above the cup on the dipper.

Then it just completely vanished, no change in color just from the completely unchanging, steady white light to completely gone. It looked very high in the sky but very bright, and did not have a strobe effect like planes or even the little flicker some stars have. It was completely steady and bright.

A little later, my other friend who was further down the beach said she saw another one in the same general area but only for a few seconds and then it to was just completely gone I how ever did not see that one. But all of us saw the first one.

Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: Grants Pass, OR - Zip Code: 97527 - Date: 07/31/00 - Time: 9:00-9:30 PM
Additional Information: Front yard of wife's parents house. - County sighting took place: Josephine
Witnesses: 3 - Objects Shape: Light - Number of objects: 1 - Object had lights
Event Description:
Basically, my wife and son & I had gone out to my wife's folks to deliver a birthday card to my father-in-law.

It was evening, and just as the three of us were about to get in our car to leave, my son (who is autistic) was looking up at the stars and announced that he'd spotted "spaceship." More interested in getting home than anything else, I impatiently responded "Yeah, yeah...sure," -- but, he seemed really fascinated, and deciding I shouldn't be such an insensitive jerk <g>, I indulged him and looked up to where he was happily pointing (essentially at an 85-degree angle from our position, looking east).

Figuring to see maybe the flashing lights of a jet, or a satellite, or even a minor meteor shower or something like that, I certainly did *not* expect to see what I saw!  The "object" was a point of white light, rather appearing like a non-twinkling star or planet, but it moved, as if under intelligent control. First, it tracked over to our left (north) at what I can only describe as a "leisurely" speed. Then, it stopped for a bit, tracked upward and to our right a ways (all within our staring, fixed field of vision), then at a slight angle back down again almost to where it was when we initially began observation.

Then, my wife's Mom came out the front door, wondering what the heck the three of us were staring at. We told her, and she joined us. But, at this point the object was gone. Anyway, it was bright, it moved uncharacteristic of any earthly craft we've ever seen, and it was a pretty incredible experience (not to mention just a wee bit scary). Whatever the thing was, it *appeared* to be well out beyond our atmosphere and there was no sound associated with it. Just the odd movements (come to think of it, the movements essentially made a triangle shape). Again, the time was between 9:00 to 9:30 PM.

Reported By: Jonn W.  -  Chandler, AZ.  -  November 3, 1999  -  6:36 PM
Subject: UFO Sighting  &  Unexplained Event  -  Event Location: Newport, Oregon  -  Time of event: 9-10pm
Date: 6/77-7/77 - Additional Info: at the beach  - Witnesses: 1 - Objects Shape: Light  -  Number of objects: 2
Event Description:
I'm originally from Pa. and went to Oregon for vacation in 1977 when I was 17 with my brother who was on leave from the air force, so a more exact time frame is obtainable. The only other witness I know of is a guy from Walla Walla, WA. who I met in the campground we were staying, but they left before we woke up the next morning, so any actual confirmation would be from someone I never met before or saw after. You're the only ones I've ever submitted this to, although I've told many over the years.

After having dinner on the beach this guy and I went around a pile of driftwood to do some stargazing (nothing else!). We watched what looked just like a star "moving around other stars" in erratic sharp turning patterns, except it would get brighter and fainter as it "moved in & out of light range." We looked away and then back minutes later and it was still there, but it started to arc toward the south then stopped and continued its erratic movement. We continued to watch until it started to arc again and met another similar light which traveled straight in the opposite direction.(probably a satellite)

We watched it straight above for about a 20 min, looked away for about 5 min, watched again for 10 min before it started its 1 min arc to about 10:00 in the sky, where it stayed for 10 min and we looked away again for 5 min then back for 2 min until it moved to intercept the other northerly arcing light. We left after they were straight above us, it got way to weird.
Just to point out the important parts again. It was star like and was constantly moving in a sharp erratic pattern around and past fixed stars and in and out of light range indicating depth in space. We watched it for an hour or more. The only one to verify it is someone from Walla Walla. A more exact date probably could be obtained. I'm not insane and it still tingles my spine when I talk about it.

Subject: UFO Sighting - Location: 50-100 miles west of Nellis Air Force Base - Time: 7:00 PM - Date: 10/1
Witnesses: 2 - Objects Shape: Light  -  Number of objects: 1 - Object had lights - Object left a vapor trail
Object had an Aura or Haze around it  -  Event took place near A Military Airfield or Base
Event Description:
As I was driving south on a highway approximately 50 miles west of Nellis Air Force base I looked to my right and about 25-50 miles away to the West was a bright light ascending rapidly. I thought it may have been a rocket but what was very strange about it was it started to slow down and a sphere shaped cloud formed around it and then it completely disappeared. Even stranger, the cloud was green and it was glowing. The cloud also didn't disappear for probably about an hour.
