UFO Fever Over Scotland
By: John, Foreign Correspondent for Mystical Universe, June 8, 2001UFO Fever swept Scotland yesterday in the wake of the amazing pictures captured by a Record photographer.
Mark Runnacles' images of a flying saucer-shaped object in the skies above Glasgow sparked a flood of calls to the Record reporting similar sightings.
Martin Fraser, of Maryhill in the city, saw a UFO in the same place six days before Mark. He was watching meteors over the Campsies at 4.30 AM. He said: "What appeared to be a star grew to about
25 times its original size. The flash of light was incredibly bright and I know for sure it wasn't an aeroplane."
George Young, of Motherwell, saw the objects as he scanned the skies early on Saturday morning.
He said: "I was looking out towards Hamilton when I saw what I can only describe as a glowing beach ball in the sky. This was not a plane. It was an awesome sight and I watched it for
about five minutes before it disappeared."
Raymond Adams, 36, of Carnwadric, Glasgow, was alerted around the same time when his six-year-old
son Ross began shouting about coloured lights in the sky. He said: "I saw a thin streak of light in the direction of the Campsies. It was reddish white in colour and was there one minute and gone the next."
Jack Young, 53, of Kilmarnock, and Elizabeth McGleish, 42, of Springboig, Glasgow, also reported sightings.
The Ministry of Defense are investigating the pictures taken by our photographer.

UFO Shuts Down Russian Airport January 27, 2001
DATELINE: Siberia, Russia
According to the Agence France Presse, it seems that something out of the ordinary happened at the
Barnaul Airport in southern Siberia.
On January 26, 2001 the aforementioned airport was shut down for a short period of time, due to a UFO detected near the runway.
The Interfax News Agency advised that for approximately an hour and a half, the airport was closed. A UFO was seen 'hovering above the runway.'
A local aviation company director reported that a cargo aircraft declined to take off 'claiming they saw a luminescent object hovering above the runway of the Siberia's Barnaul airport.'
In addition, this sighting was backed up by the Crew of another cargo aircraft. In fact, this second aircraft refused to use the runway at Barnaul and made arrangements to land at another facility.
Reports indicate that this UFO was in the vicinity for approximately 90 minutes and then it vanished from sight. Nancy, Director of Operations, Editor
TRIANGLES RETURN TO CARPINTERIA, CA.
By Don Robertson May 31, 2000
Skywatcher Kirk reports that there has been a new flurry of Triangle sightings in the night sky above Carpinteria, Ca. throughout the month of May. The first sighting this year occurred on May first, when
he and his thirteen-year-old son, Joe, saw the object. "It was pretty high up," said Kirk, "not as low as it usually is. It was triangular; outlined by small lights, and flying from southwest to northeast. Joe
was the only one of the kids that hadn't seen a Triangle. He was pretty awed," Kirk reported. Consecutive sightings took place on May fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth, and more since then.
Kirk woke from a nap at 10pm on the seventh of May. He got up to get some water, and decided to go out to check the night sky, a normal practice. At 10:15 he walked out on the patio behind his
house, leaned against a small boat he keeps there and looked up into a clear, star-studded sky. "As soon as I looked up, there it was," he exclaimed. "I was really excited!" It was pretty high up, about
2000 feet." He went back inside and told his family the object was back again. Then Kirk heard his neighbor calling to him for outside. The man lives above him. He reported that there were ants in his
bedroom, but then listened to Kirk's UFO report. The neighbor was skeptical. But Kirk kept scanning the sky, and spotted the Triangle coming back toward them from the Santa Barbara area up the
coast. The object was now much lower, about five times the size when he first saw it.
"There it is!" Kirk yelled, pointing at the large ship. "I grabbed him by the shoulder and pointed him right at it."
He just stood there saying, "Oh my God! Oh my God! What is that?"
"I told you it was out here flying around," he admonished the man. They watched as the craft made a
hundred and eighty degree turn back towards them and started following the nearby 101 freeway toward Santa Barbara. "Look at the wingspan on that thing," the neighbor said. "It's huge!"
"But there's really no wings on it, they look thicker than that," Kirk explains. "You can tell it's not a plane. The thing was gray lookin' - you could see the metal on it; you could see not just the lights,
but what the lights were attached to. It was kind of the color of a Navy ship. The back end went in a little bit, but followed the shape of a triangle. It had no tail; no fuselage. The thing that's eerie about
it is that there is absolutely no sound; this thing is right over the town and there's no sound!"
The neighbor asked, "What's it doing cruising around here all the time?"
"I don't know," Kirk replied, for the past two years it shows up in May." Last year the object showed up three nights in a row starting on May 22, 1999. It made three appearances on the twenty-second.
On the third pass, Kirk thought to himself, What is it you are so interested in here? The Triangle started a slow turn to the right and finally stopped directly over Kirk's house.
"I was so scared I ran inside!" he said. "I didn't expect anything like that!" It knows when somebody sees it, I can tell you that! Otherwise I'd think it was something the military was testing. My wife
thinks that. But I asked her the same thing. Why does it seem to react to your thoughts?"
But Kirk told me on May nineteenth that the triangle has shown up almost nightly when conditions are
clear. We've had some fog lately. He also said that many of his neighbors have also seen the object over the neighborhood near Canalino School. Several also said they had seen the object from the
bluffs area overlooking the ocean in Carpinteria.
One interesting aspect of these sightings is that one night while he was out looking for the object, he
saw another triangular formation passing silently overhead, and realized that it was a flight of geese...but he also saw the regular triangle that night - both with witnesses. Kirk also believes that
the object "knows when we're watching it," and that it seems to, "respond to thought." This year he and his oldest son have been experimenting with trying to project thoughts to the craft. I will pursue
this aspect of the observations with him, when he returns from vacation.
One offshoot of the geese story is that I went out to see if I could see the object (so far I have not)
after Kirk called me in Ventura, 24 miles south of Carpinteria. He and his family had just seen the object several times, and it was now heading my way. I went out to take a looksee, and was shocked
to see a lighted triangle coming directly for me. Have to tell you it made the hair rise upon my neck! But after close examination, it turned out to be a large flight of geese, lit from the city lights below,
very silent. However, I feel Kirk is seeing a Triangle, especially since he and family members saw both a flight of geese and the object the same night.
This story is not over. But the "June Gloom fog" has made an early appearance obscuring the skies and the Triangles over Carpinteria for now. When things clear up, there are plans to try to capture
the Triangle on a night vision recorder. I'll keep you updated.
