Australia's Min-Min lights

You're driving in the outback desert country 300 miles south of Mt Isa in Queensland. Its dead of night and probably 80 miles to the nearest homestead.

You last saw another vehicle 2 hours ago. In your rear view mirror, you see a single "car" headlight coming up behind. The light comes to within a hundred yards or so then veers off the road to your left and travels there 100 yards away, beside you.

Over creeks and hills the light stays there at 70 miles per hour. You stop, determined to get to the bottom of whoever is doing this. The light also stops. You get out and the light starts coming towards you. At 30 yards you can hear there is no noise, see there is no vehicle and it's definitely not a man made lamp of any sort.

It is floating 4 feet above ground and is plain white with maybe a bluish tinge. You panic and get back in your car and drive. It again follows you for half an hour then just goes out -Blip-.

You have just had a classic encounter with Australia's Min-Min light.

There is a valley in Norway where UFOlogists have long studied similar lights and even photographed and video'd them. They still haven't been able to find a cause for them but, have decided that they show some aspects of conscious control, as they respond sometimes to events such as light signals beamed toward them.

While it is believed they fall short of the classical UFO definition they are something more than naturally occurring "Earth Lights."

I believe that these Min Min lights are an identical, wider ranging version of the same phenomenon. They only appear at night and disappear with the coming dawn. They can turn off at will. They follow vehicles and display some curiosity towards human activities. They appear as a ball of white (sometimes yellow/white or blue/white) light ranging from 6 inches to 2 feet in diameter.

They have never been known to approach closer than 20 feet or so and there are no reports of injury or even strange sensations or after effects from their presence. There have never been to my knowledge reports of more than one at the same time.

My conjecture is that they are a conscious but semi intelligent life form of unknown origin, consisting of coherent light or energy of some sort.
