Daffy's UFO sighting (or Min Min Light?)
Recently a good friend of mine whom I attend University with found out about my special UFO web page.
He contacted me with his personal story of an experience in Australia's Northern Territory. See below

Hi Brad
Today you partly got my crip about an ‘unusual’ incident that happened to
me, in June or July of 1988. Let me recount it for you:
Location: Adelaide River Floodplains, N.T., Australia, in an area we
called "The Triangle."
Event: Strange orange lights resembling 4WD ‘Spotlights’
Terrain: Rough, Undulating, Low hilled scrub
Event Description: As recalled from memory:
It was a typical tropical dry season night, already into the Top Ends
established dry season, with mild nights and not much wind. I was on one of my
usual unsuccessful pig shooting trips with a mate and it was quite late,
probably after 10 PM, easily.
We had been driving around spotlighting, and on the horizon (other side of
Adelaide River. Quite distant) was the glow of dry season fires far off. At the
time of the event it never occurred to me we were driving around in flattened
bamboo/canegrass type of vegetation, most likely flattened due to animal grazing
(buffaloes and the like).
After a while, it was apparent we were lost (again) and what appeared to be
400-500 metres away, was a campsite or 4WD with stationary very bright orange
lights .. with a definitive ‘light beam’ pattern pointing up to the
sky.
Now, having seen light set ups like this on 4WD (across tray mounted roll bars)
I took this to be other shooters on the move, at a kill or pitching camp. Since
we were lost I suggested we approach and ask for help or directions. This was
the start of our ‘weird’ encounter.
At first we approached on foot and after walking several hundred metres, I never
got physically any closer to these lights.
We went back to our vehicle and drove towards the lights, they never appeared to
move in any way, shape or form yet, we could never get any closer. Here comes
the stupid part (by me). By this time we could see the scrub thicket, which was
the Adelaide River bank itself, so we could go no further.
At this point, the lights were still on our side of the river, but always
partially obscured by hillocks of dirt which was typical of the area. So, I
decided to pop a few rifle rounds their way, figuring it would stir up some kind
of response. Zip, zero, zilch nothing.
So, we gunned the vehicle as fast as it would go, towards the lights and they
just went over the other side of the river, it’s at least 20 metres wide at
this point. At this time, we were not going to wander into a crocodile infested
river, in the middle of the night, to see where the lights went.
After this, we just had no idea what had happened to us or what we saw. Suffice
it to say, we never stopped driving again that night till we found a way out.
