AUFORN Reports

Back to Aussie connection Page.

The Australian UFO Research Network, AUFORN, is a dedicated collection of UFO investigatory groups and individuals from around Australia. These groups and individuals have come together to provide a basic framework for collecting and sharing witness reports and investigatory resources.

AUFORN created a toll free phone number for witnesses to call in their sightings from anywhere in Australia. That number, 1800 77 22 88 will connect with an AUFORN controller who will direct your sighting to your nearest local UFO research group or individual who will contact you about your sighting.

After sightings are investigated the report pf the event will be circulated to all members of the AUFORN group via their email network to ensure all members are up to speed on what is currently happening and where, and so that any relevant comments, suggestions and reports of other events may be added to the overall picture of UFO events in Australia.

AUFORN, via a liberal freedom of information policy, allows for network members like myself, or anyone from the general public to reuse and publish these reports providing the report is given in full with credit given to the AUFORN network and to the investigator involved.

On this page, I have posted selected reports of UFO sightings and other events reported and circulated on the AUFORN Network.

I commend and congratulate the Network and its members for providing this service to the public at large and for the vision of furthering the cause of UFO research in Australia and the world.

REPORT:

Toni walked out into the backyard of her house at approximately 2040hrs, she looked up in the evening sky and saw a strange object in the western sky at about 25-degrees to the horizon. Toni described the object as a large circular shape about the size of a full moon, dark grey or black in colour.  There appeared to be a round silver disk in the centre of the object with a red light circulating underneath the object.

She watched the object move slowly south before disappearing behind a large tree. The sighting lasted approximately 3 minutes. The object made no noise as it moved across sky.

Toni did photograph the object before it disappeared behind the trees.

Toni said that this was not the first unidentified flying object she has seen. Two years ago she saw a strange amber light over the airport, moving in a westerly direction.
In 1983 Toni saw a white light 50 to 70 feet above her vehicle when she was driving to Tumby Bay S.A. The object stayed with her for approximately 20 minutes.

(Object seen was the “Holden Airship” that was brought over for the Clipsal 500 Touring Car Race)

REPORT:

In the late evening of Febuary 18th 2007 Julie saw a large dark shape that she thought was very strange, she rang the UFO Hotline to report it. Shortly afterwards released it was the Holden Airship (blimp) that was brought over to Adelaide for the Clipsal 500 Touring Car Race.

Julie did want to tell the story of a strange encounter she had with her husband in the early 1990s. They were travelling on Main North Road at approximately 10.00pm on a clear night when their vehicle became enveloped in a thick white cotton-like cloud. Julie noticed on the passenger side of the car were she was sitting a row of red lights that appeared to be flashing quite brightly moving along with the vehicle. She described the thick cotton like mist being so thick that it was as if a white pillow was put on front windscreen of the vehicle. As they drove through the thick cloud, Julie stated that she suddenly got a very a painful headache and got a sensation of being suffocated. She started to get very scared, as she did not know what was going on or what was going to happen. She also had a very strange sensation of reality and time not feeling right.  Julie thinks they were enveloped in the mysterious cloud for approximately five minutes. Julie said even her husban! d was very concerned about what they had experienced but had no explanation for this very strange experience. Julie believes they could have encountered a UFO of some kind and feels that the encounter affected her health for a number of years after the encounter.

Julie stated that the strange feelings in her head, she encountered on that night lasted approximately two years and the painful headaches only started going away about two years ago.

Julie stated that the first UFO she had seen was in 1965 or 1966 from there home in Parafield. She saw a large dark cigar shaped object that appeared to fly in an erratic manner. She said it was so long ago that she can’t remember many of the details anymore other than to say it was very strange and scared her.

Moon phase:  1st sighting.     2nd sighting.
Classification: NL.

REPORT:

Courtney woke up at 0030hrs and was unable to get back to sleep. She got up and looked out her bedroom window to watch a particular star that she finds interesting and observed a strange light in the southeastern sky approximately 25 degrees above the Adelaide Hills. The object was slightly larger than the planet Venus, spherical in shape. It was yellowish / white with a flickering a reddish-blue light and had a solid red light underneath the object.

The object appeared to be moving up and down within the same area (jerky motion). She watched the object for a nearly 4 hours; she then went to the bathroom, when she returned the strange object had vanished.

On the 13th Febuary Courtney woke up again at 0330hrs and was unable to get back to sleep, she looked out her bedroom window and saw what appeared to be the same object over the Adelaide Hills that she had observed two weeks earlier. Again the object was spherical in shape, a yellowish- white colour with a flickering reddish-blue light and a solid red light underneath the object. The object also had the same jerky motion. This time she grabbed her mobile videophone and videoed the object for 3 minutes. She observed the object for approximately 60 minutes.
Courtney’s video footage will be investigated further at a later date.

Date reported: 17/02/07
Date of Sighting: 17/02/07
Time of sighting: 2:30 am
Location: Baulkham hills
State: NSW
Caller: Liz
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1

Report

Liz of Baulkham hills reported that on the Saturday morning, she was awoken by a loud bang and looked at the clock to see what time it was. It was about 2:30 am. When she looked, she saw that a bright orange light lit up her room. The light was only encompassing her and her pet dog on the bed. She said that the light was coming in through her window like a spotlight. She had the feeling of being pinned down to her bed and she could not move.

She felt that herself and her dog were vibrating in the light as though “in a magnetic field. It felt as if we were both lifted up and for some reason the thought of ‘don’t take me’ was going through my mind.”

She was totally scared and her dog was really upset.

Liz then got out of bed and noted that the time was now 4:17 am.

Date of Sighting: 1997
Time of sighting: 2:30 am
Location: Koolewong
State: NSW

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1

Report

This report is by email from the caller.

“About 10 years ago I was camping in the backyard at my mother’s place at Koolewong in the Central coast with my brother and I saw some UFO activity about 2:30am in the morning.

It was like a star that just hovered. It went to-and-fro east-west-north-south in a zig-zag and somewhat erratic fashion.

I believe they are telepathic.

I seem to recall intoning the Lord’s Prayer before I saw them (just before I saw them/it). I was hoping to see them and they seemed to respond.

This zig-zag behaviour lasted about 1-2 minutes then it stopped still right above me (but very high up ~ 800m) and got brighter (like a white light) as though it was coming closer And then it flashed brightly and just disappeared from where it once was.  I don’t think I am afraid of them and in fact I wouldn’t mind if it is at all possible, if one day I could go for a ride in one and take some Pix if they let me.

I remember asking (intoning) that they (UFO people) come visit us here on Earth 23rd January 2007 and the funny thing was that we had the wildest thunder and lightning show I have seen in my whole life while driving home from Mittagong.

Since this event it prompted me to look on the internet for storms and UFO’s.

Date of Sighting: 17/02/2007
Time of sighting: 5:50 am
Location: Halliday’s Point, Mid North
State: NSW
Caller: Chris
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1

Report

Chris came out of his house around 5:50 am on the Saturday morning of the 17 of February and was greeted by a set of lights coming towards him from the west.

“As I watched, it turned a reasonably sharp turn towards south (right) and changed shape to a thin ellipse. There was no wind and no sound at all. Effectively, I imagined that it was still a long way away, so a faint sound might not have been heard.”

Chris then raced to the vacant block at the back of his house to see the object as it went behind a tree and came out still going south. He then raced across to the beach and was able to watch this thing until it could not be seen any more in an ever lightening, pre dawn sky. Chris described speeds as normal Aviation speeds.

Chris actually held out his hand as it passed through the turn and at arm’s length, the object subtended roughly 15 millimetres.

Chris described the object as a complete diameter of lights.

Chris has been in the Royal aircraft establishment in the U.K. and involved with all sorts of aircraft including wind tunnel assessments. Associated with aircraft for a large slice of his life, he felt sure that this was not like any aircraft he had ever seen and not heard! The night was clear and there was no moon.

The object when last sighted was about 5 degrees w of south and about three degrees off level ground.

Chris contacted the authorities at Newcastle RAAF. They put him onto us but would not comment at all on his sighting.

State: NSW

Report

“I live in Centennial Park on the eastern side of the city in a 3 storey house with views of the city.

On Wednesday the 21.02.07 at 11.38pm  I had been composing music in my  room when I received a text message from a good friend which read " I am sitting on a beach and have spent the last 20 minutes watching a ufo dance in the sky.." I ran to the roof of my house whilst calling my friend. I asked him where he was, he said he and 2 friends were in the northern beaches and had observed a light in the sky dancing like a musical bouncing ball, making zig zags and streaking high speed hair pin turns.

I could see nothing at first and then way over to the NNE I saw what  looked like a spark racing across the horizon covering incredible distances and suddenly achieve a complete stop. It then disappeared only to reappear shooting upwards like shooting star and making a horse shoe turn in a half second it had returned to its point of origin. My sister
Emily stood next to me and confirmed what I was seeing.

This ceased after 7 minutes and the sky offered only stars to look at  until both Emily and I observed what seemed like red plane lights in a  similar area of the sky these lights were accompanied by satellite lights around the centre light. this light formation moved westward very slowly but judging from the distances between the lights it was a single object it was the size of a small town.

After about 2 mins nothing could be observed in that part of the sky except two bright stars.

Yours in earnest

Tim”

UFO Sighting Rowville VIC

Name: Mr. Ben M
Location: Rowville Vic
Occupation:  Apprentice Mechanic
Other Witnesses: No witness, I just dropped my friend off.
Other Experiences: I wish, it was awsome to see something like this.
Sighting Date: 4th March 2007.
Day: Sunday.
Sighting Time: 1.00 p.m
Sighting Duration: 10 seconds.
Direction: North to North West
Description: The shape did not change, the movement as stated before went
from the right side of the dandenongs to the left and slowly drifting downwards
out of my sight because of the distance. One thing I noticed about it the most, is
that it moved so freely like there was nothing obstructing it like wind or anything.
Number of Objects: 2
Apparent Size Other: Tennis Ball.
Actual Size: Well I was in Rowville facing the Dandenongs so it is hard
to measure, but I could see it clearly so I would say it was rather large.
its really hard to measure in my head.
Altitude: Started about 50 70 meters in the sky (middle part of the
dandenong mountains), very hard to measure.
Object Origin: The lower part of the dandenong mountains, so rather low
and on the right side of the mountains relative to where I was, Rowville.
Object Destination:  The left side below the mountain where i could no longer see
because of close by trees.
Moon Visible: No moon visible at time, it was during the day.
Moon Size Comparison: Well tonight its a full moon which is huge right
now so comparing wouldn't help.
Planets Visible: No
Weather Temp: Warm - Sky  Cloudy -  Wind Calm.
Weather Comments: Nothing blocked my view of the mountains.
Viewing Aids: Binoculars.
Effects Physical: Nope only that I didn't think much of it after it happened even though it
was very significant.
Effects Psychological: I still find it weird that after I CLEARLY saw it  I just drove on and
then I stopped thinking about it and kept on practising heel toe in my car.

Observation: I was in my car in Rowville leaving a mates place after dropping him off.
I was on a road (fairway dr) pointing towards the dandenongs, as I was heading towards
the the next corner I noticed a round silver object on the right side of the Dandenong Mountains.
The object was way below the top of the mountain (my guess 50 meters in the sky). At the
corner I stopped and watched the object float from the right side of the mountain downwards
accross the mountain to the left untill it dropped below my view. My hope is that someone else
saw   this, I don't know how they couldn't have. So please email any information on this if you
 find it.

Sighting Date: 2 March 2007
Day:  Friday
Sighting Time: 9.50 p.m
Sighting Duration: less than 6 to 10 minutes
Direction: North to North West
Description: Colour orange, bright like a star
Number of Objects: 2
Apparent Size Other: Larger than a star
Actual Size: About the size of a small aircraft but hard to tell as no
definite edges could be seen
Altitude: 3000 - 4000 Feet
Object Origin: From the North
Moon Visible: Yes full moon in the north east
Moon Size Comparison: 1/16 the size of the moon
Planets Visible: None Noticed
Weather Temp: Warm - Sky  Cloudy -  Wind Calm
Weather Comments: Very high wispy clouds
Viewing Aids: Binoculars

Observation: Witnessed 2 orange lights one at a time looking in a

northerly direction from our backyard. Initially I thought the light was a
aircraft as we live reasonably close to the airport. The light appeared to
be traveling towards us from the north and it was a bright orange almost
like a flame. The light was unsteady and appeared to fluctuate in brightness.
The light swung towards the west and disappeared in a way that it looked
like it went out. Just as the first light disappeared a second one appeared
by which time I had retrieved the binoculars and observed that it was dark
underneath and the light appeared to radiate upwards.

Object Origin: It disappeared West
Moon Visible: n/a
Planets Visible: Light cloud very mild wind calm

Effects Other Witnesses: I my wife is now a believer as before she was a disbeliever.
I think she is shitting herself now but she's ok.
Other Experiences: One time approximately a year ago we both saw something a fair
distance away but I wasn't convinced, but now I'm sure.

Observation: Hi guys on Sunday morning the 4/02/07 I woke up and got
myself a glass of water as I stood looking out my kitchen window I noticed
a light approaching my direction heading north.  As it got nearer I could plainly
see it was cigar in shape approx20/30 meters in length and around 5/10
meters wide it was the most unusual bright yellow in colour almost as though
it was on  fire changing to almost a white colour.  I ran into our room and woke
up my wife. We both ran back out to the kitchen and watched it move very slowly
around 20/40kms per hour and around 10 meters above the roof tops of the

100 meters from us. There was a very uncomfortable silence it made no sound.

The time was 4.02 am and the whole thing was over in under 5  minutes as it
disappeared  out of view behind houses and bush. I have once seen something
like this before but a lot higher up which kind of did not concern me like this thing has.

I will tell you this much it was not a comet nor a weather balloon WE KNOW
WHAT IT WAS after seeing one before I never thought I would see another
again but not just me this time there's two people who have witnessed the same
thing with no answers  apart from the obvious one.

We are going to invest in a decent video camera might just get lucky. Please feel free
to contact myself or my wife if you need any more info on this event

it just disappeared instantly, it was a UFO.

Observation:  We were at a boat ramp that overlooks the ocean and refinery
plants with lots of lights a on the other side in front of us. I would say the UF
O would have been maybe 1 km away. We saw a bright pink light hovering
low around the industrial area, a very strong nice pink colour.

The light went really bright then it started to turn round within 1 sec it just
disappeared without us seeing it go. We couldn’t see the object just the light
but it was hovering pretty low about tree top level.  The object just came
out of nowhere in the sky. The  moon was a full moon, the moon was really
bright lighting up the water, it was a clear night and we were all shocked at
seeing this thing as it was a weird thing to see.

Occupation:  Student
Date:  30 November 2006
Time: 23:40 pm
Duration: 2 min

Apparent Size:  Tennis Ball
Actual Size:  My estimation at least 20 - 30 metres in diameter

Description:  No sounds it was hovering low with a bright pink light then
it just disappeared instantly, it was a UFO.

Observation:  I was having a fresh breath before going to bed outside my
house in the lawn then I looked up into the sky. Suddenly there were two
object flying in pararell  formation equeal distance from each other about
a few miles (cannot give an exact count). Their flying paths did not resemble
any commercial jets or satellites whatsoever looked to me like a ghost trembling
over the sky and those eery figures made me scared a little bit.

I then rushed into my room and grabbed my mobile trying to get images and
videos down. It was a little bit difficult to catch  and unfortunately the video
recording function did not work well at that time I barely got 3 picture which
are too fuzzy to recognise.  About 2 or 3 minutes later the object on the right
hand side suddenly disappeared (lighting lost), and within few seconds the
one on the left hand side disappeared in the same fashion. My action of
pointing mobile phone to sky certainly drew attentions, 3 people passing
by also witnessed partly (they ran over to the little bump in the park on the
opposite side of the road, just to catch a better view).

Description:  Those two objects are completely silent, their movement
somehow looked like as if we were driving on a hot summer day on highways
and everything afar looked so wavy and blurry. The actually movement is like
a snake crawling and within a very small range of area.

The light on those two objects were very stationary it was a very soft and dimly
lit orange-ish lights and seemed to me that there is a small fraction of indigo-like
colour in it. There were 3 witnessed to this event, I briefly indicated to them where
to look and they ran over cross the road to catch a better view. As it finished they
walked away it seemed they were excited and interested in it.

The altitude of the 2 objects I would say they flew above normal cruising
altitude but not exceedingly high flying pararell not sure I can say they had
a destination but they wandered in an area about 4-7 km in diameter, and
dissapeared by shutting off the light. The moon was far behind them not
illuminating that part of the sky where the UFOs occurred.

Moon Size Comparison:  About 10th of fraction to the moon with 2 bright
stars and few dim stars are visible a few clouds.

Witnesses: (1) Mr. John S
Street: Waterloo corner road
Town-City:  Adelaide
Suburb:  Salisbury North, SA, 5180

Location of Sighting
Location: I was in my backyard
Street:  Waterloo corner road.
Town-City:  Adelaide.
Suburb:  Salisbury North.
Occupation:  Retired.
Date:  29 November 2006.
Time: 12:05 am
Duration of sighting: approximately 5 minutes.
Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time.

Apparent Size:  It was huge, possibly hundreds of feet long and wide.
Objects origin:  It flew toward my place from a north westerly direction .
Objects destination:  It flew away to the South East
Moon visible:  It was a little more than half a moon at about thirty
degrees in the sky towards the west at normal brightness.
Moon size comparison:  The object was huge compared to the moon.
The half moon was about three times the size of the smaller white lights
on the object.
Planets visible:  The sky was quite clear the big dipper and plenty of
major star group clearly visible.
Weather visibility:  Clear
Weather temp:  Pleasant
Weather wind:  Calm
Weather comments:  It was very quiet with no traffic noise
Viewing aids:  binoculars
Effects physical:  I actually felt a little shaken and awe struck by what I saw.
Effects psychological:  I could not sleep all night because I realised what I
saw was a very very large craft that was not of this earth. I told my wife in the
morning what I saw and exspected to hear a news report in the morning
believing many other people must have seen the object. The day passed
without mention in the media. I HAVE NO DOUBT HOWEVER MANY
PEOPLE MUST HAVE SEEN IT.
Effects other:  A lot of dogs barked in the area as the object passed by.
Other experiences:  No I am 55 years of age and have never seen anything
unusual before. My father was in the Air Force for many years and i have
lived near air bases all of my life. I am very familiar with aircraft helicopters
etc and there appearance in operational flight. What I saw was so large and
strange in visual appearance it defies a really accurate description.

Description:  Huge black triangular craft with slowly pulsing white light
at each point and much larger reddish/amber light in the centre that
looked hot. Very large and flat looking and completely silent. The most
incredible thing to me was how slowly it was flying it just seemed like it
was gliding.

Observation:  At midnight I went to my backyard to put out rubbish bins
for the morning collection. I noticed a reddish/amber ball of light above
the trees to the North west that seemed stationary. I went into my home
obtaining binoculars to have a better look.  When I viewed through the
binoculars I saw a shaft of soft white light emanate from the reddish ball
of light then it happened again. The white light beam was the same width
throughout its height and nothing like a searchlight from a helicopter.

This struck me as very odd. After about ten seconds the object seemed to be
moving very slowly in the direction of my home. As it neared I could see a
very faint white glow much wider than the ball of light either side of it
and two pulsing small white lights at the edge of the glowing area at the
edges of the glow.

The object moved very slowly toward me until i could see it was a very large
black triangular craft. I saw as it came near that there were actually three
white light at each point of the triangle and the reddish/amber light was in the
middle of the tringles underbelly. As it passed overhead i looked just with my
eyes and the reddish/ amber light seemed to shimmer like a you see a heat
haze in the desert while the white lights faded in and out in a pulsing glow.

I realised then it made no sound and was blocking out large areas of stars as
it passed. It was unbelievably huge I would estimate hundreds of feet long and
wide. I felt a bit amazed because of its size its very low speed and the fact it was
gliding silently through the sky. As it passed many dogs in the area were barking
until it started to fly away. As it flew on into the distance many small sparkles of
white light emanated from the rear edge for a few seconds, my view  of the object
was blocked by a tree in the neighbours yard..

New Zealand UFO Sighting Report

Date:  Tuesday 1st August 2006
Time:  8.50 pm
Place:  Maungaraki, Lower Hutt, North Island, New Zealand

Description:  A witness was standing on his back doorstep, when he noticed a
beam of light extending over a hill approx. 1.2 kms from his house (looking
in a northerly direction over bush-clad hills).  Suddenly the beam
disappeared and a large, bright yellowish light appeared and hovered
soundlessly over the hill around 300-400ft above the summit.  The witness
watched it briefly and then called another witness from inside the house to
video the light (captured on digital camera).  After 30 seconds or so, the
light began to move around above the hill, changing direction frequently.
Two other lights began to flash forming a triangular shape in the sky, two
bright yellowish/white and one orange.  The lights flashed on and off
randomly, although they all moved about in unison or formation, as the
light/object moved about.  The witnesses believed the lights were all on one
object, rather than a group of three objects.  They considered the initial
sudden appearance and the Obehaviour¹ of the light/object very strange.
The video footage shows a Ofalling leaf¹ or Oswaying¹ type of movement, with
sudden changes of direction, followed by a rotation of the three bright
lights in triangular formation, executing a flat, angular turn on a plane
(not banking like an aircraft), blunt-end-forward, as the light/object began
to move off.  The light configuration appeared to be on a large, flattish
object, possibly triangular.  The sighting lasted around 2 minutes and
ceased when the lights ³just flicked off like a light switching off².
Air Traffic Control has established that it was not an aircraft.  The
possibility that it may have been a police helicopter was ruled out when ATC
viewed the footage, as the light configuration did not resemble that of a
helicopter.  The entire sighting captured on video shows 9 out of the 15
main characteristics of  Oblack triangle¹ craft, sightings of which are
increasing worldwide.  At the time of this sighting, reports were made of
unusual lights in the night sky all over the southern North Island.
This case in still under investigation.

DATE OF SIGHTING: 1980s
DATE REPORTED: 09/05/06
TIME REPORTED: 7:50 pm
LOCATION: Sydney (Balmain)
NAME: Allan

REPORT:
Whilst reading an article in the Sydney Morning Herald, Allan was moved to
report something from the 1980¹s that he felt was too extraordinary for
words. Whilst living in Balmain, he looked out on a weekday night from his
upstairs veranda on a side of the house looking west. Not too long after
sundown,  against a pitch-black western sky, there were point sources of
light low down on the horizon. He saw about 5 or 6 of them and there seemed
to be a Omother¹ ship the other points were rotating around. ³Erratic
circling² was the description given to their movements about the dominant
craft. They moved as a group from south to north. All of a sudden, they all
accelerated north. He recalls no colours. Simply white point sources. Allan
was  really amazed by this. Later on that night, he called the observatory,
³ had any reports?²
³No² was the answer. The very next day, he rang the Herald, ³ any reports?²
³No² again.

The whole sighting lasted about 4 minutes. He was amazed no one else saw
anything and decided to ³pull his head in² after that.

Extreme acceleration of these objects were estimated at travelling through
10 degrees in a couple of minutes when first observed, then through an angle
of 30 degrees of sky in a couple of seconds!

Convinced that it cannot be explained in down to earth terms, Allan was also
just as convinced that these objects were low in the atmosphere.

About 10 years ago, the caller¹s sister had a strange sighting. Although she
is a nurse with no interest in UFO¹s at all, she felt compelled to tell the
story through her brother as it involved a strange disappearance.

Living on an elevated setting in a mountain range, she was able to look down
upon aerial objects. One night, she looked out to see a bright object
illuminated by a set of on board lights. At one point, the silent, slow
moving object gave out a brilliant stream of light which corkscrewed ahead
of the craft. It was into this stream of light that the craft
³dematerialised².

Some years later, the caller¹s father, a retiree from air traffic control
and also with no UFO interest, was outside the same premises at around 3 am
when he saw what could only be described as ³the same damn thing².

The caller has subsequently become deeply interested in theoretical physics
to the extent that he had to call someone and correlate his findings along
with reporting the original incidents which started it all off.

REPORT:
Trish called during a sighting of three objects that she saw circling an
area between the Williamtown air base, Scott¹s flat and singleton itself.
She was originally drawn outside by the two dogs on the property ³going
off².

Trish described the objects by their lights three in a line on the
underside. None were blinking. Having lived in the area for 15 months, both
she and her husband had to admit that the lack of sound and closeness of
these craft, coupled with the strange bright lights on them, made for an
unusual sight.

The craft were seemingly able to slow to a crawl if necessary and
occasionally gathered formation whilst circling, one waiting for the other
in mid-air!

The couple are used to seeing so many aircraft and jets in the area, that at
first her husband dismissed that it could be anything strange. But after
seeing these three strings of light in the sky, he changed his Otune¹.

About one year earlier, still new to the area, Trish was first called to the
back garden by her dogs barking incessantly at Onothing¹. That was the first
time she encountered exactly the same string of three lights in a row on a
single craft. This object was most definitely hovering and the dogs did not
give up until it was gone.

Neither person had ever reported UFO¹s before.

Mr M is a 68 year old accredited author and a very well respected man in his

He has been witnessing a strange phenomenon over the Blue Mountains area
since the beginning of this year and decided to ring and report it after
having coffee with a young man Mr J who had also witnessed the strange
event.

Mr M has been witnessing strange flashes in the night sky, which only lasts
for a micro second, over the Blue Mountains area most weekends since the
beginning of the year.  The flash happens generally between the hours of
11.30pm-3.00am and he has seen it 4 times in the past months.

After witnessing this several times, he decided to contact the Department of
Meteorology and the Sydney Observatory to see if there was an explanation.
Neither party were interested in giving an explanation, however the Dept. of
Meteorology seemed to think he was witnessing lightning.

Mr M laughed this explanation off but has no idea what the flash and was
hoping that there had been other reports.  He explains the flash to be like
an electricity transformer exploding but with no noise just the flash. The
flash happens so quickly that if you were not looking in the right
direction, you would never see it.  He also explains that if it were
lightning, then the whole sky would light up and this is not the case with
what he is seeing.  Only an area directly west of Guildford over the
mountains lights up!

Whilst waiting to go on air on a community radio station on a Sunday night,

5:45 pm. She rang the air force base at Richmond. They didn¹t see it, so

seen the exact same thing. No mention of colour or sound was made. The
station transmits on 89.9, Hawkesbury,

From all correlations and descriptions, it seems most likely that this was
one of the meteorites called in from the local area that week. We have made
other callin reports from rural west NSW surrounding balls of fire that have

According to Roger, an incident occurred around 3 years ago so richly
bizarre that even though he had called National security some 22 times in

close to the dividing ranges. One night, he observed a craft that he
estimates could only have been about 50 metres away, low to t he ground. The
time of this sighting was around 6:30 pm. Roger states that the device,
whatever it was, ³measured about 15 feet long and was kind of football
shaped; like a dome from a mosque with what looked like 3 portholes².
Hovering just above the trees, the object made no noise and moved rapidly
away.

Some months later, living on a property with full 360 degree viewing, an
object ³lit the room up! Windows were shaking² but that there was no noise
to speak of. Many people have confided in Roger of having the same sorts of

Speed of them was incredible. It was at night time, a cloudy night, but I
could see them easily against the backdrop of clouds.² Telstra 123 put him

He went on to say that he could not distinguish any light sources. The

Ms P and partner Mr J witnessed and incredible event on the 1st June 2006 at
9.45pm.  Ms P was sitting out on her verandah looking over the Ourimbah
area, a suburb of the Central Coast, when she noticed what she first thought
was a star.

The object seemed to be hovering and was showing colours of red, white and
green.  The object moved several times which then made Ms P call out to her
partner to come onto the verandah and watch this object as well.  Both
viewed the object for at least 5 minutes and then called the local radio
station to report the sighting.  As no body really seemed to be interested
in what she was saying, she then rang Telstra to get the phone number of
their local police station.  The lady she was talking to told her that the
Police probably wouldn¹t be interested and gave her the AUFORN 1800 number.

While both were still witnessing the event, Ms P rang the 1800 number hoping
to talk to somebody straight away so she could report the event and
hopefully get an answer.  After leaving her details, she watched the event
for at least another 5 minutes.  She said the object moved from side to side
several times, and a one stage, made a very quick acceleration which then
made them both realise it was something out of the ordinary.

Ms P, who is 51 years old and Mr J who is 58 and an industrial chemist,
feels that what they witnessed may not have been in our Earth¹s atmosphere
as it did appear to be a fair distance away.  Ms P explained that she has
witnessed a few strange things in the sky before over the years, but her
partner with his scientific background, has always had an explanation for
what she had seen.  However, this time he couldn¹t explain the event and it
was he who prompted Ms P to call somebody and report the sighting.

Stella rang to say that she has been seeing things in the sky since she was
8 years old. Even her son saw such things and had used the type of language
to describe them that he should not have known at the time. By then, all of
this did not seem so strange to her. There was, to her, almost a feeling of
being one of a few fortunate people in the world.

IN those times, Stella and her family lived in a remote area known as
Wyangeree, (Lismore). But all of that was some 40 years ago.

Present day: Having shifted to Dubbo, she had forgotten about all that stuff
- until about 1993. She now had a garden outside which she tended of a night
time do the watering. During the last decade, she has seen some very strange
things, certainly not satellites. Her Husband and Neighbours always saw all
these things from time to time.

Stella started to count sightings and managed to get up to 120 before this
year had even begun. She called recently to tell of objects which outshone
others and she asked about little scout ships seen well before Christmas 0-
even asking if anyone knew what they might be.

Stella was now seeing objects in a sort of pattern of timing which suggested
they may have been man made. But nothing was supposed to be in the sky and
nothing so bright in orbit (she had a friend check this out for her).
Stumped by this, she went on to describe ³Large ones at roughly 8:30 or 11
pm. They used to Oflick on¹ Due East and travel southerly.² Some erratic
movements were noticed but mostly smooth and slow moving actions dominated
her sightings. According to her informers, no known man made objects should
have been bright enough to occur regularly in the sky at those times. ³Some
of these objects are a reasonably large size, but most were small and look
like remote control or unmanned AV¹s. No particular shape.² Stella has
formed a great belief of Galactic ships in the solar system. We have invited
her to collate her sightings with us over time.

Southern NSW. One of them looked up, asking ³is that a helicopter?² All

three of the men looked up to see a bright orange ball of light to the

South, seemingly high in altitude but low on the horizon. Then, the ball of
light came closer, getting larger and brighter than amber street lamps in
the foreground. At one point, the caller estimated the object to be no more
than 300 m up and 300 m away.  The object flickered a little around the
edges. Then, the three witnesses, Ogob smacked¹, looked on as the object
hovered motionless without making a sound.   When the object finally moved
away and receded, it finally petered out of sight.

The three guards talked about what they had seen and then went about their

their notes when recalling the times and dates.

At around 11:45, the nightwatchman telephoned the caller from one of the

New Zealand UFO Sighting Report

Date:  Tuesday 1st August 2006
Time:  8.50 pm
Place:  Maungaraki, Lower Hutt, North Island, New Zealand

Description:  The witness was standing on his back doorstep looking in a northerly direction towards a hill approx. 1.2 kms from his house (bush covered).  He noticed a beam of light coming over the peak of the hill, and then suddenly a large yellowish light appeared and hovered soundlessly over the hill around 300-400ft above the summit.  He watched it for about a minute and then called his friend from inside the house to see the strange light.  After 30 seconds, the light began to move around rapidly above the hill, changing direction frequently, suddenly and quickly.  Three other lights on the object then began to flash, two bright white and one orange.  The lights flashed on and off randomly, although they all moved about in unison as the light/object moved about.  The witnesses considered the ‘behaviour’ of the object very strange.  The sighting lasted around 1 ½ -2 minutes and ceased when the lights just flicked off like “a light switching off”.  They have provided video footage and a daylight photo of the hill area.

Date:  Sunday 21 May 2006
Time:  5-6.30 am
Place:  Rimutaka Ranges, Wairarapa, North Island, New Zealand
Duration:  Approx. 1 hour

Description:  The sighting took place when the witness and his companion
were travelling to Lake Wairarapa early Sunday morning to go duck shooting.
The reporting witness has over 30 years experience hunting and tramping in
the Rimutaka Ranges.
The companions travelled out through Upper Hutt, over the Rimutaka Ranges,
and then proceeded through Featherston into the Martinborough area.  Their
final destination was to be a Omaimai¹ (camouflaged duck shooting shelter)
located near Kahutara, Lake Wairarapa.

It was early morning; the conditions were clear at the time, with no wind or
moon.

The witnesses first spotted the unusual light between 5 and 5.30 am, when
driving through Kaitoke, north of Upper Hutt on the approach to the Rimutaka
Ranges.  It was directly ahead of them over the hills; a large, bright
purple\blue light, which changed to yellow and then white.  The light
initially appeared to be oval in shape, but its shape then became distorted
or fuzzy.  As the witnesses drew closer to the hills, the light moved and
suddenly appeared very close to them, almost over them at one stage, before
returning back to its original position at approximately 30-35 degrees above
the ranges.  They noticed that there was no sound accompanying the movement
of the light close to them.  The witnesses described the light as having
soft hues that appeared to glow.  They described the size of the light as
Osubstantial¹.

The light remained in view for approximately another 20-25 minutes until the
men drove over the ranges and down the other side towards Featherstone.  At
this stage they lost sight of the light because of the close proximity of
hill ridgelines.  The men continued on their way discussing what they had
seen.  (The reporting witness had observed a similar unusual light on the
West Coast of the South Island many years ago).

Upon arriving at the maimai, located at the north eastern end of Lake
Wairarapa, the men busied themselves preparing for the mornings shooting.
Once settled in the maimai, the witnesses were facing in a southwesterly
direction overlooking the lake, waiting for ducks to show up!  The sun had
not yet risen.

Shortly after 6 pm, the men noticed a glow behind a hill called Maunganui,
some 12 kms distant (an estimate).  Near the hill was a flat plateau along
Western Lake Road.  The witnesses observed this whole area - and the
surrounding hills also - light up as if in daylight, and they saw a glowing
light visible above Maunganui.  This brilliant expanse of light remained
constant for approx. 10 minutes before suddenly extinguishing, leaving the
area in semi-darkness again before sunrise.  The area that was lit up is
sparsely populated, with only a few farms in the area.  Both men were left
baffled by this strange spectacle.

He managed to find a lift from a friend spending time fishing off the

occurred that has stayed with him for life. Toward the Anzac rifle range end
of Maroubra Beach, Ken noticed lights toward the Sydney Heads.

³One light was brighter and appeared to be coming towards me. I didn¹t
initially take much notice. But at that time of night, I thought it a bit
strange.²

The lights ended up directly in front of me; less than a hundred yards out.
Just a light, a fairly small object at best, a bright white light, not
flashing, just fixed. I Sensed I was being watched by a controlled object.²
Ken had a fishing rod pointed toward it so he laid it down and crouched down
himself. After what seemed like two or three minutes, the object rose
straight up! Ken heard no sounds during the whole event. Ken described sea
conditions as calm no surf at all. The now singular object no more than a
hundred yards away, rose up higher than the rifle range and moved over the
Headland itself some 500 yards away until Ken lost sight of it down the
other side. Ken estimated the speed of movement over the Headland as slow,
about 20 40 k/hr.

³Then, a couple of minutes later, the light circled around, came back over
the range and landed directly behind me! Dust seemed to rise up from
underneath. It touched down and the light went out and complete darkness
fell over me again². The area in question is a light grass, scrub and bush
area, then the South Maroubra Lifesavers building grass area.²

³It landed there, the light went out and I got pretty nervous. I picked up
my fishing gear and started away toward the roadway. I kept looking behind.²
Amazingly, Ken waited in the bus shelter for cover of daylight and has
wondered to this day if He should have taken a closer look, but He was
alone.

Ken is now 78 years of age.
